In 2003, Kamikatsu became the first Japanese town to embrace a 'Zero Waste Declaration,' a testament to its people's genuine desire for a sustainable future.
Facing challenges of aging demographics and lacking major economic drivers, the town sought means of survival, leading them to prioritize nature preservation.
Spec Laboratory, Inc. was inspired by Kamikatsu's courage, committing to support their cause.
Through our Rise & Win hospitality ventures, we share Kamikatsu's values, offering unique experiences and building a platform for a forward-looking, sustainable future.
IN TOKUSHIMA
Kamikatsu is located in the mountains of central Tokushima Prefecture.
Most of the town is covered in mountains over 700 meters in altitude,
meaning you can see beautiful terraced rice paddies and fields along their steep slopes.
The town is located along the upper reaches of the Katsuura River, sourced from Mount Kumoso and Mount Takamaru.
